The Neon Demon a psychological horror movie directed by the Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn. The film is based on the dark side of the models in the fashion industry in L.A. The film is written by Polly Stenham, Mary Laws, and Nicolas Winding Refn.
The story revolves around the aspiring model young Jesse (Elle Fanning) who is new to Los Angeles and want to become a model. She first meets the makeup artist Ruby (Jena Melone) who shows the life of models in L.A and introduces her to experienced models Sarrah(Abbey Lee) and Gigi (Bella Heathcote), and they made her feel at home in the new city.
Soon Jesse becomes a known face in the modeling world. At first, all took her as a newbie and didn’t take her too seriously but soon she became a threat to their stardom. This made them insecure, and soon Jesse started experiencing wicked things.
The overall movie is horror, psycho-thriller, and adult at some point that is not suitable for young. The story is not so very appealing, but the filmography was done well. This is not the best movie of Refn; there are better films such as Drive (2011) and Only God Forgives (2013).From the makers.
