Annual Saudi Hajj has begun, and more than 1.5 million Muslim pilgrims have gotten together at Mecca in Western Saudi Arabia. Some important steps have also been taken to avoid any mishap like the last year. For the accommodation of a large number of the pilgrims, a big area has been covered with the fireproof tent of white color at Mina.
The most important rites running for six days commenced on Saturday among the pilgrims who have already gathered on the Holly Kaaba in the Grand Mosque at Mecca. A procession keeps moving all the time whether it is a day or night during the rites.
This is one such a rite, in which, one of the world’s largest gatherings of pilgrims participates. It happens because this rite is considered to be compulsory to be performed by the every capable Muslim once in their lives because Hajj is one among the five pillars of Islam. That’s why Muslim pilgrims from all corners of the world come here every year.
This is one such a pilgrimage where the difference between rich and poor is disappeared, so every pilgrim appears in white garments.
Important steps have been taken so that anything like the previous years can be avoided. Preparations have been made for issuing the e-bracelets. These e-bracelets have been equipped with the GPS devices so that the whole event can be navigated efficiently. Bracelets also have the medical and the personal information of the pilgrims. Moreover, a big number of cameras have also been used for better monitoring, besides the setting-up of the help desks.
Last year here, more than 2000 pilgrims were killed during the stampede which created the tension between the Saudi Arabia and Iran. That’s why, Iran has not allowed its pilgrims to come here, this time. This has happened first time in around 30. Last years in the stampede, around 400 Iranian people were also lost their lives.
In the history of the Hajj, last year stampede is considered the most dangerous. It will be the Monday when this ritual will be performed this day.
