The film got a mixed reaction from Bollywood critics.

Taran Adarsh stated, On the whole, RAEES is a sure-shot hit. To state that SRK is sensational would be an understatement. The love, adulation, and stardom that he attained in his early films will be showered on him yet again in RAEES. A few more factors contribute too: Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s winning act, the aimed-at-masses written material and of course, the gripping finale. As far as the BO is concerned, there’s no stopping this one. An outright winner! Just don’t miss it! Ratings: 4 stars

Subhra Gupta from Indian Express said: Shah Rukh Khan manages to breaks through in some scenes, but this film belongs to Nawazuddin Siddiqui who is having the time of his life. A song in the film reminds us that Raees played by SRK is a ‘single piece’ in this world. Yes, he is, but maybe we’ll be more aware of that the next time around. Ratings: 2.5 stars

Our Final Words

The first half of the movie is good with the songs and some comedy moments by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. But soon you will feel the film is too long with very few catchy moment and lack of good music. If you are a Shah Rukh fan, then you will love it. But the entire show is stolen by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is back with a fabulous performance.

So, overall a good film for this Republic Day! Please go through more of our movie reviews and share if you like them.
