Happy Bhag Jayegi: Story Plot
The story of Happy Bhag Jayegi as the name suggest revolves around Happy the Amritsari Punjabi girl Harpreet Kaur asks Happy (Diana Penty) who runs away from her wedding with her boyfriend Guddu (Ali Fazal). The groom the emerging politician (Jimmy Sheirgill) is puzzled with the event. And in this whole confusion Happy accidently reaches Pakistan.
There she meets Bilal (Abhay Deol), and the mystery remains the same who will be the groom of Happy. Between all this confusion there is a lot of fun, comedy, and drama.
The critic seems to be quite happy with the film. Shubhra Gupta of Indian Express said “Done well; Happy Bhag Jayegi could have been a rollicking comedy. But despite its occasional throwaway lines, and nice touches, it never comes together. The pleasures of the film dwindle, and we are left to fend for ourselves, looking for something that will make us laugh, even if it is weak laughter. There is some of it, but it is far too intermittent.”
Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV said “Happy Bhag Jayegi isn’t the kind of film that will have audiences rolling in the aisles. But it might occasionally induce faint smiles on some faces. All through the film, the dialogue writer unsurprisingly pokes fun at Pakistan, but the jibes are never overly spiteful. Happy Bhag Jayegi whips up a steady rhythm in the first half only to lose its way a bit in the second.”
A jolly, light-hearted film is Happy Bhag Jayegi. You will see a complete family drama, with lots of fun of running bride from a wedding over all a full Bollywood entertainer. The film has ample of moments that has mild romance, cat and mouse fights, and gags. It is a full family film that will leave you smiling throughout with a happy ending.
