Accessing a number of websites in India has been banned by the Indian government under the courts’ order with the cooperation of the all internet service providers. But, Indian users have no problem in accessing these websites but now since last Sunday, it seems that Indian users will not be able to access these websites, and if they visit any one of blocked websites, it will be a crime, and they can be put behind the bars along with cash penalty.
Now, when you access blocked torrent websites or other URLs, you will see a warning for not visiting these websites, and if you visit these websites or URLs, you may send jail for up to 3 years as well as you will also have to pay up to 3 lakh as a penalty.
The warning you will see while visiting these websites is as follow:
“This URL has been blocked under the instructions of the Competent Government Authority or in compliance with the orders of a Court of competent jurisdiction. Viewing, downloading, exhibiting or duplicating an illicit copy of the contents of this URL is punishable as an offence under the law of India, including but not limited to the under Sections 63, 63-A, 65, and 65-A of the Copyright Act, 1957 which prescribes imprisonment for 3 years and also fine of up to 3,00,000/-.
Any person aggrieved by any such blocking of this URL may contact at email@example.com who will, within 48 hours, provide you with the details of relevant proceedings under which you can approach the relevant High Court or Authority for redressed of your grievance.”
So, now no Indian user will be allowed to view torrents files, and download any file from the banned sources. It is not limited to this, but Indian users are also not permitted to view the image from the host such as “imageban”. Thus, downloading any file and video through the torrent or getting information from the banned sources can be a cause of great physical and financial trouble for you as you have to stay in jail and pay up to 3 lakh as a fine.
